Tina and Nathaniel's wedding brought me back to SKY Armory, located right in the heart of downtown Syracuse. So named because the building's front provides a commanding view toward Armory Square, SKY Armory has spaces on each level of the building, allowing couples can choose which one (or more) they prefer.
For Tina and Nathaniel's wedding, we were on the second floor, known as "Wells on 2," after the Wells and Coverly store that occupied the building decades ago. (The third floor is branded "Coverly on 3.")
Because the couple kept things intimate, with only about 35 guests, it was possible to have the ceremony and reception in the same space, with an elegant wall of drapery separating the two sides of the room. Thanks to my fairly new wireless speakers, I was able to provide sound to the reception space from a single sound setup on the dance floor. In the first shot you'll see of the setup, there's a fin antenna pointing toward the ceremony area for the mics -- probably a bit of "overkill" for such a short distance, but you can never be too careful when it comes to wedding ceremony audio!

SKY Armory Wedding DJ Photo Highlights
With everything in one space, guests flowed right into cocktail hour as the newlyweds headed outside for some formal, post-ceremony photos. With everything running from one point, I was able to smoothly transition things from the wireless speakers in the ceremony area to the wired "main" speakers on the dance floor. This allowed me to get the wireless speakers turned off and stowed away, as they'd not be necessary for the rest of the night.
After dinner, the newlyweds cut the cake and danced with their parents before we opened the floor to everyone else. This was a great crowd, they kept things going right up to the end of the night!
