Highland Forest wedding DJ

Throughout my wedding DJ career, I’ve kept a list of “unofficial records” in my head.  Earliest and latest wedding dates. (January 14th and December 28th, if you’re wondering.) Longest drive (east of Binghamton). Things like that.  Bethany and Brian’s wedding at Highland Forest park’s Skyline Lodge probably sets the record for earliest wedding to date.  I arrived shortly after 9:00am to set-up for a 10:30 start.  The setup was a little different than my previous weddings here — find out why in today’s blog post! One of the best things about the Syracuse area is that there’s a vibrant city life, but you don’t have to drive too far to get “out to the country.”  And when it comes to getting married in a country setting with a beautiful view for miles around, it’s tough to beat the Skyline Lodge and Highland Forest County Park in Fabius.  That’s where Meghan and Ryan held their wedding ceremony and reception this past August. One of the many nice things about living in Syracuse is that it’s a substantial city, but you don’t have to go too far to “get away” from the hustle and bustle. Highland Forest is a great example: it’s just a little over 30 minutes from downtown, but despite the commanding, spectacular views, you won’t see even the slightest trace of Syracuse from the Skyline Lodge. It was this beautiful view that served as the backdrop for Amy and Joel’s wedding. (more…)
