Wedding season 2016 is officially underway! Allyssia and Ryan have the honor of leading-off the schedule, with their ceremony and reception at Arrowhead Lodge, located at Oneida Shores Park in Brewerton. Check out the photos -- and for the first time -- video!
It's something I've wanted to try for a long time -- a timelapse video, showing everything that goes into setting-up the equipment for a wedding. Although it took about 80 minutes from the time I drove up to the building, to the time I was ready to change into my tuxedo, you can see the entire process in about 90 seconds below.
Video was shot from a GoPro attached to a hat I wore during set-up, so the camera is a little bit "above" my own eye level. I think I'll try this again in the future, adding a fixed camera on a tripod, so you can see the "big picture" of the entire setup.
Pictures are on the way, but first, a review of the key songs Allyssia and Ryan selected for their special day:
- Ceremony Processional: Brad Paisley / Waiting on a Woman
- Ceremony Bridal Entrance: John Michael Montgomery / I Swear (Karaoke version)
- Ceremony Recessional: Capital Cities / Safe and Sound
- Wedding Party Intros: Bruno Mars / Uptown Funk
- First Dance: Kenny Chesney / You Had Me From Hello
- Groom / Mother Dance: Mark Harris / Find Your Wings
- Bride / Mother Dance: Celine Dion / Because You Loved Me
- Bride / Stepfather Dance: Rascal Flatts / My Wish
- Cake Pops: Maroon 5 / Sugar
- Last Dance of the Night for Everyone: Edwin McCain / I’ll Be
- Last Dance of the Night for Bride and Groom: Tim McGraw / My Best Friend
One more video comes after the photos, so be sure to scroll all the way down!

As promised, one more video -- occasionally, I've been asked if I have any videos of myself performing. It's always been a challenge since I am almost always on my own at every wedding, and setting-up music and lighting is my key focus. Since I was ahead of schedule with the set-up, I had enough spare time to find a spot where I could set-up a tripod and camera to catch both myself and the wedding party for the introductions:
Added 5/15/16: Thanks to Allyssia for posting this 5-star review on WeddingWire:
Peter did an amazing job for our wedding, he went above and beyond our expectations and we were so pleased. We really thought it was amazing that he took the time to capture some special moments and post them on his blog along with a video of our bridal party entrance. Over all Peter was amazing with communicating with us and organizing everything right from our first meeting! I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a DJ, we were very pleased at the service he provided us.
Hopefully more videos to share as this wedding season continues. Like or follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ or any combination of those for updates. Thanks again to Allyssia and Ryan for choosing me as your DJ, and to Ryan's mother Brenda for helping to coordinate many aspects of the big day!
