The 2025 wedding season — my 15th — is underway! This year, we’re kicking things off at the historic Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Charlotte and Shane’s cocktail hour took place in a cordoned-off portion of the hotel’s massive lobby, followed by a reception in the beautiful Persian Terrace ballroom. Callie and Cameron’s wedding plans almost got derailed, when their original venue closed down! Luckily, they were able to lock-in the same date just a few miles across town, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Syracuse Destiny USA. Tina and Nathaniel’s wedding brought me back to SKY Armory, located right in the heart of downtown Syracuse. So named because the building’s front provides a commanding view toward Armory Square, SKY Armory has spaces on each level of the building, allowing couples can choose which one (or more) they prefer.

Shelby and Rich’s wedding was a nice change of pace from “the usual,” as they hosted their wedding at their home in the Town of Onondaga, just west of Syracuse. While a backyard wedding can require a little more planning, it also offers some advantages you usually won’t get with traditional venues. More in today’s blog post.

My 2023 wedding season is underway! After the relatively mild winter we had, I don’t think anyone was expecting waves of lake effect snow on Rachael and Jeffrey’s mid-March wedding day. But if there’s one place to watch the snow, it’s from the huge windows of the Grand Ballroom on the 10th floor of the Marriott Syracuse Downtown!

My latest wedding brought me back to the historic Marriott Syracuse Downtown — still known to many by its original name, Hotel Syracuse. Out of the hotel’s three ballrooms, Erin and Tim booked the Persian Terrace for their wedding ceremony and reception.
