When you see all the headlines about cutbacks and closings, it's a breath of fresh air when you hear about a company that's doing well and sharing its success with its employees. The Teal's Express trucking company hosted a wonderful holiday party for its employees earlier this month. Bringing in employees from multiple locations across upstate New York, the party managed to fill the entire Garden Grille Restaurant space inside the Radisson Hotel Utica Centre.
The party started with a cocktail hour, followed by introductions and prayer, then dinner. As dinner wrapped up, the company recognized drivers who had reached various milestones of safe driving, among other accomplishments. This was followed by a raffle for door prizes. Then, the dance floor opened up and I ran music non-stop until 1:00am! With such a big group, there were requests for many different types of music. I enjoyed the challenge of catering to the different segments within the crowd.
Here are some photos from the dancing portion of the night; click any thumbnail for a larger version. And check out the album on my Facebook page for even more photos from the party, including many of the special prize winners from the earlier part of the night.
When the night came to a close, there were still many people on the dance floor, and throughout the party. I want to thank my friend Dave Martin for passing my name along to Teal's -- he played this party many times in the past, but recently retired and moved south to warmer climes. I had a great time and it seems everyone else did as well!
