Peter was great to work with. His play list kept our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the night!

Wedding Photos: Erin and Steven at Sherwood Inn, Skaneateles, 5/2/15

Erin and Steven couldn't have asked for a better day to host their nuptuals in the beautiful Village of Skaneateles. It was the first weekend where we had really nice, warm weather in Central New York, so Skaneateles was abuzz with people strolling through the various shops and enjoying the sights along the lakeshore. Erin and Steven's wedding brought me back to the Sherwood Inn for my second time -- though there was a "first" at this event.

Specifically, it was the first time I had both a ceremony and reception at the Sherwood Inn. Because the ceremony area was just a few feet too far from the dance floor for me to run the ceremony sound from the dance floor, two separate sound systems were used. This allowed me to provide music and microphones for the ceremony, and immediately after the ceremony, I was able to get over to the other system to start the music for the cocktail hour. Just a few minutes later, after guests cleared the ceremony area, that "secondary" sound system from the ceremony was packed-up and removed.

And now, here were Erin and Steven's selections for the key moments of the evening:

  • Ceremony Processional: The Piano Guys / Home
  • Ceremony Bridal Entrance: The Piano Guys / Story of My Life
  • Ceremony Recessional: The Piano Guys / Happy Together
  • Wedding Party Intros: Billy Idol / White Wedding
  • First Dance: Sara Groves / Fly
  • Bride / Father Dance: George Strait / I Cross My Heart
  • Groom / Mother Dance: Rascal Flatts / My Wish
  • Cake Cutting: Piano Guys / I Can't Help Falling in Love With You
  • Last Dance of the Night for Everyone: Eric Clapton / Wonderful Tonight

If you've never heard of The Piano Guys, you might be wondering who they are, especially after seeing their name listed multiple times above. They are an instrumental group who produces covers of all sorts of popular music, ranging from current hits through the classics. So, if you're thinking of a song you'd like for your own wedding, but you think the original version might be "too rough" for a wedding, see if The Piano Guys have a version. The Vitamin String Quartet is another group doing the same kind of thing.

I didn't have a chance to snap a lot of photos this time around -- for even more photos, be sure to check out the professional shots from Sarah Heppell Photography -- this is our third or fourth time crossing paths and she always does great work.

Here's the review of my services Erin posted on WeddingWire afterward:

We could not have been happier with Peter. The level of service he provided leading up to our wedding day went beyond our expectations. Peter is organized and professional; his advice on our ceremony and reception music was so helpful. The evening flowed perfectly and I give a lot of credit to that to Peter and his experience as a DJ.

Thanks again to Erin and Steven for choosing me as their wedding DJ!  A great couple with a tight-knit group of wonderful friends and family, and I wish them all the best together.  Thanks also to the staff at The Sherwood Inn, always very professional, polite and helpful (and the food is great, too)!

Peter provided much more than we could have asked for and had every aspect covered. His professionalism towards his job makes him shine above the others!
