I’ve heard many positive things about Bayshore Grove, but every time I was asked to DJ a wedding there, I had to decline because I was already booked elsewhere for their date. Until now! Emilei and Josh found me before anyone else with an 8/10/24 wedding date, so I finally got the chance to check out this venue on the shores of Lake Ontario!

As a former TV news producer, I’m used to adjusting on-the-fly to unexpected changes… but it was quite a shock when bride-to-be Anessa called me a few weeks before her wedding to inform me that Jason had been in a bad accident. I felt horrible for them, as they weren’t yet sure exactly how this would impact their wedding day plans. Thankfully, Jason was able to get back on his feet again in time to keep everything on October 17th, albeit with some changes including moving the location by about 95 miles. (more…)
Now that my 2014 wedding season has come to a close, I finally have a chance to catch-up (again) on my blogging. For the second year in a row, my calendar for July included a wedding at SUNY Oswego’s Fallbrook Recreation Center. Located about a mile and a half away from the main campus, Fallbrook is optimal for summertime weddings, as there’s plenty of open space outside for younger guests to run and play, while the barn offers plenty of room for seating and dancing. My first of two wedding receptions in the port city of Oswego this year took me to Alexandria’s Premier Lakeview Weddings, a wonderfully-appointed reception space attached to the Best Western Captain’s Quarters motel. And even after thinking I had all the details covered — after two meetings and many emails — Meghan and Brian, along with their wedding party, managed to surprise everyone in the house with their unique entrances! I was thrilled when I first heard from Mallory and Jason, because their wedding plans would bring me back to my alma mater, SUNY Oswego. Specifically, they chose to host their ceremony and reception in the barn at the college’s Fallbrook Recreation Center, a few miles away from the main campus.
