It’s nice when things end on a high note, so I’m pleased to say my 2015 wedding season did just that! Matt and Justin were great clients who chose an excellent venue and invited an awesome group of guests to their wedding in the Finger Lakes. And they picked a wonderful date — the autumn colors were at their peak (or pretty darn close), combining with Seneca Lake to provide a spectacular backdrop for the outdoor ceremony. (more…)
As a former TV news producer, I’m used to adjusting on-the-fly to unexpected changes… but it was quite a shock when bride-to-be Anessa called me a few weeks before her wedding to inform me that Jason had been in a bad accident. I felt horrible for them, as they weren’t yet sure exactly how this would impact their wedding day plans. Thankfully, Jason was able to get back on his feet again in time to keep everything on October 17th, albeit with some changes including moving the location by about 95 miles. (more…)
Even after years in the DJ business, Laura and Daniel’s wedding day managed to present some exciting “firsts” for me. Although I’ve often DJ’ed a reception/ceremony combo, this was the first time I did them at two separate venues. My latest wedding took me to one of my favorite venues — Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse — for the second time this wedding season. It’s a wonderful venue and I’m always happy to return, especially when the dance floor is consistently packed throughout the entire evening, as it was with Maura, Nicholas and their guests. It’s been awhile since my last visit, so it was nice to venture down into Hamilton, a charming village in the heart of Madison County, for Mary and Anthony’s wedding reception. The venue was the Colgate Inn, where I played another reception in 2013 — in fact, it was my blog post about that wedding which prompted Mary to contact me last summer about my availability. I’m glad she did because, as you’ll see from the photos in this blog post, it turned out to be a great reception! (more…)
Plenty of fun and lots of great photos to share from my latest wedding! Emily and Adam got married and hosted their reception at the DoubleTree Hotel in East Syracuse, just off Carrier Circle. The couple welcomed their first child earlier this year, and his presence made for quite the adorable wedding ceremony. Afterwards, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour followed by dinner and a very active dance floor! (more…)
A very close call in the weather department almost forced some major last-minute changes at Aubrey and Bill’s wedding at the beautiful Wolf Oak Acres near Oneida this past weekend. Even though the timing of the rain was “thisclose” to potentially causing some problems for the outdoor ceremony, we lucked out! The rain moved out of the way just in time for everything to stick to the original plans. (more…)
Many believe it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day. If you want good luck, book me as your DJ and hold the reception at the Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse! I say that because with Diane and Greg’s wedding, my record for rainy day receptions at Bellevue now stands at 2-for-2. But rain didn’t let anyone down!
