Phew! What a busy June it has been… four weddings in four weekends! July will be a bit calmer, so it’s time to catch up with the blog. My third wedding of 2018 was my fourth at the historic Lincklaen House in Cazenovia. Interestingly, even though I’ve done four weddings at this venue, each one has been different in some way or another. Into my 8th year as a wedding DJ, it’s hard to believe there are still some major venues where I haven’t done a wedding yet. I’ve DJ’ed a corporate holiday party at Turning Stone Casino Resort before, but it wasn’t until now that I’ve DJ’ed a wedding there. Had a blast helping Andrea and Larry celebrate! Molly and Quinn’s wedding at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown was my last for the 2017 season. Like many TV shows, this “season finalé” pulled out all the stops. From a technical standpoint, it was one of my most complex weddings to date. But I love a good challenge and it all came together very nicely. Imagine this: 19 days before your wedding, a tornado destroys your venue! That’s exactly what happened to Julia and Michael. They had to find a new venue — then notify guests and vendors — with very little time to spare. Talk about testing a marriage, before it even begins! But there’s a happy ending — I’ll explain (and share some photos) in this blog post.
It would be impossible to have asked for a better day for Amy and Michael’s Thousand Islands wedding. DJ services were provided at two locations in Clayton, along the picturesque Saint Lawrence River. Stephanie and Larry’s wedding reception brought me to Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro, just a few miles outside of Utica. This was my first visit as a wedding DJ, but I’ve visited several times during my days as a radio DJ. Check out the blog post for photos, song selections and more memories!
Ashley and Edward’s wedding day brought me and nearly 100 of their closest friends to the historic Lincklaen House in Cazenovia. So far, every wedding I’ve done at the Lincklaen House has included both the ceremony and the reception. Ashley and Edward’s did as well, but it was somewhat different from the others. Now that July is almost over, I’ve realized all of my July weddings have something in common. They’re all familiar venues I’ve DJ’ed in the past! Stephanie and Christopher’s reception brought me back to the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn for the first time since 2015. A great couple, wonderful crowd — we even extended the party by a full hour!
