My third wedding of 2018 was my fourth at the historic Lincklaen House in Cazenovia. Interestingly, even though I've done four weddings at this venue, each one has been different in some way or another. Megan and Tat's wedding reception was no exception to that rule... find out what was unique about this celebration and check out the photos in today's blog post!
While each of my previous Lincklaen House weddings were different in one way or another, they all had one thing in common: the hotel had cleared the front lobby for use as a dance floor. But by keeping the guest list relatively short, Megan and Tat contained their entire reception within the Hunt Room. This space is usually jam-packed with dinner seating, but Megan and Tat's layout provided ample room for both dinner and dancing.
Another unique item: Megan's mom, Kerstin, served as the wedding planner, working with all the vendors locally as Megan and Tat live out-of-state. Our final planning meeting was a four-way Skype call (a first for me) involving myself, Megan, Kerstin and Megan's sister Alex, who served as Maid of Honor.
Megan and Tat's Key Song Selections
- Father / Bride Dance: Rosemary Clooney / The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing
- Bride / Child Guests Dance: Randy Newman / You've Got a Friend in Me (from Toy Story)
- Cake Cutting: (DJ's Choice) Archies / Sugar, Sugar -- Four Tops / Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch
- Last Dance of the Night: (DJ's Choice) Ed Sheeran / Perfect
No, nothing's missing ... the couple opted to skip the first dance, mother/groom dance and tosses. Every wedding is 100% customizable!

Thanks again to Kerstin, Megan and Tat for selecting me as your wedding DJ! Thanks also to Carrie and the awesome staff at the Lincklaen House... they always do a wonderful job, making it a pleasure to work there. Although my 2018 wedding schedule is full, it looks like I won't be back here until next June -- unless someone books me for an earlier date in 2019! Check availability here and contact me here if you found this blog because you're planning a Lincklaen House wedding!
