My final wedding of the 2018 wedding season holds the all-time record for "latest wedding in the year." After all, there isn't much room to go later than December 29! The season wrapped up at a familiar venue -- Tailwater Lodge in Altmar -- with a familar couple. Bride Irene is the sister of Martin, whose wedding I DJ'ed in 2016 (where Irene was a bridesmaid). It's always great to see some of the same guests again and this crowd had a great time! Check out the photos and more in this blog post. The original plans called for just one sound system to cover both the ceremony and reception, but I arrived to find out the two were too far apart to cover everything from one location, I had to make some quick decisions.
Luckily, I always bring two of everything with me, just in case anything goes wrong. It took some fast footwork, but I was able to set-up two systems in time to cover both the ceremony space and the reception space.
In the first photo below, my secondary system inside "the porch" room, where the ceremony took place. Check out that wonderful backdrop of giant flowers, created by Irene!
The third photo below shows my primary set-up in "the barn" room, accompanied by the venue's holiday decorations. Also check out the Harry Potter-themed decor, including a "sorting hat" at the gift/card display.
Irene and Roberts's Key Song Selections
Reenie and Bob had a pretty large wedding party. To save some time, rather than formally introducing all the attendants, they just had me introduce themselves to the reception. That's why there's no "wedding party introductions" song in the list of their key song selections.
Ceremony
- Processional: Iron and Wine / Such Great Heights
- Grand entrance: Bright Eyes / First Day of My Life
- Recessional: Hall & Oates / Kiss on My List
Reception
- Newlyweds' intros: Queen / Don't Stop Me Now
- First Dance: Ingrid Michaelson / I Can't Help Falling in Love
- Father / Bride Dance: Paul Simon / Father and Daughter
- Groom / Mother Dance: Beatles / Blackbird
- Cake Cutting: Cake / The Distance
- Open Dance Floor With: John Legend / Good Night (I Think I Just Met My Wife)
- Last Dance of the Night: Van Morrison / Someone Like You
In addition to the above, Bob and Irene requested the soundtrack from Hamilton the Musical, along with the accompanying Mixtape album, for dinner hour.

A great night and a great wedding to wrap-up my 2018 wedding season, my busiest wedding season since I started Peter Naughton Productions! Thank you very much to Irene and Bob and to the rest of my 2018 wedding couples. Each and every wedding has been an honor and a pleasure, and I look forward to more celebrations in 2019!
