Angela and Aaron's 50s-themed wedding brought me back to the historic Lincklaen House in the charming village of Cazenovia! The weather almost forced some drastic last-minute changes, but some extremely good luck saved the day. Find out what happened and check out the song choices and photos in this blog post.
The Lincklaen House's courtyard provides a wonderful setting for outdoor ceremonies -- as long as the weather cooperates! During setup, less than an hour before the ceremony, the skies decided to open up. Luckily, the rain ended just before we'd have to make a final decision about moving everything to an alternate location indoors.
Inside for the reception, the 50s theme included plenty of 50s hits during cocktail hour and dinner, and there was a 50s feel to the decor as well. After getting uplights in all the key places around the dining room, I had a few leftover, so I put some under the cake table and the head table to glow through the white table linens.
Angela and Aaron's Key Song Choices
- Processional: Frank Sinatra / All the Way
- Grand Entrance: (Maid of Honor sang a song live)
- Recessional: Frank Sinatra / At Long Last Love
- Newlyweds' intros: Frank Sinatra / Love and Marriage
- First Dance: Luke Bryan / To the Moon and Back
- Last Dance of the Night: Spaniels / Goodnite Sweetheart, Goodnite
The capstone of the 50s theme came towards the end of dinner, when I emceed a brief a "50s Music Trivia" game put together by Angela and Aaron. Each table had a picture of a singer who was famous during the 1950s and guests seated at each table had to guess their name. Having the list in advance, I came prepared to play songs by each artist, to help guests come up with the right answers.

Here's the 5-star review Aaron and Angela left on TheKnot:
Peter was very knowledgeable and gave us a great time! His tutorial page helped novices like us plan the music, lighting and many things we would have never thought about. Everyone at the wedding was happy and dancing the night away. We highly recommend him.
Thanks again to Angela and Aaron for choosing me to DJ your wedding! I'm glad you had so much fun, and it was a pleasure to be there and help you celebrate... all my best to you for a long and happy marriage!
