When it comes to weddings, some say fall is the "new summer." Can't argue that point, as October was my busiest month for the 2021 wedding season! Kayla and Bryant's reception at Turning Stone Resort Casino was the first of three consecutive wedding weekends on my calendar.
Kayla and Bryant's reception took place within the same cluster of conference/event spaces as my previous Turning Stone wedding DJ event. But this time, the layout was different - the long Mohawk room was used for the cocktail hour, and the venue removed the partitions between the smaller Tuscarora, Cayuga, Onondaga and Seneca rooms to create one single reception hall that was even larger than Mohawk. The couple chose blue and magenta uplighting for the main reception space.
Kayla and Bryant's Key Song Choices
- Wedding party intros: Multiple songs, custom-edited to accommodate announcements
- Newlyweds' intros: Patrick Hernandez / Born to Be Alive
- First Dance: Chris Stapleton / Joy of My Life
- Father / Bride Dance: Scott Thomas / This Dance
- Groom / Mother Dance: Bill Withers / Lovely Day
- Cake Cutting: Thomas Rhett / Make Me Wanna
- Family Dance before Last Dance: James Morrison / Precious Love
- Last Dance of the Night: Jordan Fisher & Angie Keilhauer / Happily Ever After
Kayla and Bryant set the tone for the evening by requesting we open the dance floor with Montell Jordan's 1995 hit, "This is How We Do It."
The newlyweds had a few other requests sprinkled in throughout the evening, but not very many. As a result, I had more "wiggle room" to entertain requests from the guests. Several took advantage of the cards I had placed on tables, inviting them to my online portal for "socially-distanced requests." Even though I'm fully vaccinated (plus the booster!) I know some people might still prefer to maintain their distance. As the requests pop up on my phone, I can choose which ones would fit-in well with the crowd's energy and the planned timeline.

A big thank you to Kayla and Bryant for choosing me to DJ your wedding -- I know there are lots of choices out there, so it's always an honor and a privilege to be selected by every couple who books me for their wedding. A wonderful time, and I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
