Peter was extremely professional, so easy to work with. He kept people on the dance floor right up until the last song. Everyone had SO much fun, especially us!

Wedding: Clare and James at Cross Lake Inn and Marina, Cato, 6/4/16

After a few weddings followed by some time traveling with family, it was exciting to resume the 2016 wedding season with Clare and James at the Cross Lake Inn and Marina in Cato. We couldn't have asked for better weather for a reception that featured the bride, groom and the entire wedding party arriving by boat! If you're a Disney fan, you'll definitely want to check out the photos.

Guests entered the venue to find a table with photos of the bride and groom, a guestbook and placecards, highlighted by working models of Cogsworth (clock) and Lumiere (candelabra) from the 1991 animated feature film Beauty and the Beast. But wait, there's more! Every single table had a centerpiece which consisted of a fishbowl, with a different scene featuring characters from various Disney movies or other pop culture themes like Pokémon.

For the dinner hour, the bride and groom requested instrumental versions of popular Disney songs... I surprised them by kicking off the hour with a snippet from the famous Walt Disney World monorail greeting -- the one you know you've heard if you've been to Disney World anytime in the past umpteen years.  I was pleased that several guests also "got it" and chuckled as the music started.

Before we get to those photos, however, I always like to share the songs selected by the bride and groom for some of the reception's key moments:

  • Wedding Party Intros: The Incredibles theme song
  • Bride and Groom Entrance: Up movie soundtrack / Married Life
  • First Dance: Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi / I See the Light (from Tangled)
  • Bride / Father Dance: Gilbert O’Sullivan / Clair
  • Groom / Mother Dance: Phil Collins / You’ll Be In My Heart
  • Cake Cutting: Beauty and the Beast soundtrack / Be Our Guest
  • Bouquet Toss: Miss Piggy and Amy Adams from The Muppets soundtrack / Me Party
  • Garter Toss: Four Seasons / December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)
  • Last Dance of the Night for Everyone: Kermit the Frog from The Muppet Movie soundtrack / Rainbow Connection

And now, the photos!  As the night went on, you can see how the uplighting becomes more apparent.

The very next day, Clare posted the following 5-star review on WeddingWire:

Peter is one of the most organized people I have ever met. He responds very quickly to any question you may have throughout your entire experience. We had a timing snag for our reception entrance and Peter was able to adjust the timing for our wedding events with no direction. Everyone had fun and only had amazing things to say. He had a great music selection as well. Peter is a true professional DJ.

Thank you very much, Clare and James, for the awesome review!  You were just as organized as (if not more than) I, and it was apparent the way everything came together so nicely.  The Disney theme definitely set the tone for a happy, cheerful day.    Thanks again for choosing me as your DJ -- it's always an honor and a pleasure!  I wish you all the best!

Check out more photos from Elegant Memories Photography, who were along for the entire day starting pre-ceremony.
