A very big thank you to Cydney and Jeffry for choosing me to serve as the DJ and MC for their wedding celebration at the Onondaga Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville! It's always a pleasure to add another venue to my portfolio, and we had a great dance floor crowd at this reception!
Weddings within the clubhouse utilize at least three spaces along the south-facing side of the clubhouse. The foyer hosted the wedding cake display and table card markers. To the left is the dining room. To the right is the living room.
Beyond the living room, another space would be available as a backup ceremony space in case of inclement weather. And, in this case, the backup plan paid-off, as heavy rains earlier in the day would make it impractical to hold the ceremony outside on the greens.
For the ceremony, Wilder Harp Music provided music. The club's in-house system covered mics for the officiant, the readers and the vows. The club also has the dining room wired for sound, so we used their system once again, for the toasts.
Dinner music came from my setup on the dance floor -- one speaker was strategically placed near the living room doorway, aimed across the foyer toward the dining room. After dinner, that one speaker was moved closer to the dance floor.
Cydney and Jeffry's Key Song Choices
- Newlyweds' intros: (DJ choice) Nat King Cole / L-O-V-E
- First Dance: Van Morrison / Someone Like You
- Dance Floor Opener: Stevie Wonder / Isn't She Lovely
- Last Dances:
- Donna Summer / Last Dance
- Whitney Houston / Saving All My Love For You
The timeline provided just about 90 minutes for open dancing. For me, it felt like it all went by in a flash, as I was juggling the couple's request list along with on-the-spot requests from various guests.
Although I always arrive at every wedding with a full playlist of music scheduled, I never actually play the entire list from start to finish without making some adjustments. This was a perfect example of a playlist that ended much differently than it started -- with several songs being added, some being dropped and a bunch of others being rearranged as I read the crowd and responded accordingly. (And I hope this doesn't come off sounding like a complaint -- it's quite the opposite! Any good DJ should be prepared to react to the crowd in real-time, and I enjoy seeing how things evolve as a reception plays out.)
Photo Album Highlights
Again, a great crowd, and the uplighting was a great addition. As always, this is just a select handful of my photos -- I have even more photos on my Facebook page! Scroll down for a direct link to the album.

Here's the 5-star review Jeffry provided after the wedding:
Peter was great to work with. He was very flexible and accommodating during the planning process as well as the day of the wedding. His play list kept our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the night!
Thank you again to Jeffry and Cydney for choosing me as your DJ! It was an honor and a privilege to help you celebrate this momentous occasion, and I wish you both all the best for many years of happiness together!! Thanks also to the great hosts at the Onondaga Golf & Country Club! I'm glad everyone had a great time and I'd love to DJ there again. If you've found this blog because you're looking for a DJ, let's talk!
