Emma and Scott had a great day for their wedding reception at the historic Lincklaen House in Cazenovia! The weather was sunny and warm, but not too warm, and we just barely missed all that smoky air that would make its way down from the Canadian wildfires later in the week.
Fun fact: Prior to Emma and Scott's wedding, the Lincklaen House was part of a 3-way tie for the honorary title of "Venues Where I've DJ'ed the Most Times." during my wedding DJ career. This celebration brings the Lincklaen House into the lead (see them all here).
One thing I like about the Lincklaen House is that, while many weddings are similar, there's always been something a little unique about each one, in terms of whether or not the ceremony is on-site, where the guests will be seated, where the dance floor will be, and so forth. Lots of options with the different spaces.

When Scott and Emma provided their song choices through my online planning portal, they indicated they wanted to ban all the "organized dances" like the Macarena, Shout, Cupid Shuffle, Cha-Cha Slide and the like. They're not the first couple who've done so and I don't think they'll be the last. And that's perfectly fine!
You don't necessarily need these songs to have a great wedding reception... there's lots of other great music out there. But if you want to include some of these songs in your own reception, that's cool, too. That's why part of my planning form specifically asks each couple to rate several of the most-common "line dance" songs as either must-play, maybe or never. It's one way I help each couple plan a unique and unforgettable celebration.
