What a wonderful place for a wedding! Mia and Brendan held their wedding reception outside of Brendan’s parents’ home in Tully. We had perfect weather for an awesome party. I’ve got photos, song choices and more in today’s blog post.
Second paragraph… venue?
Just to give a better idea of how things were laid out here, I present a satellite view of the property along with a general idea of where things were.
First, to be clear, the ceremony took place elsewhere, so I was not involved with that.
Although the cocktail hour area looks far away — and I initially thought I might need two separate sound systems — I was able to get a good signal from the tent to my wireless speakers in the cocktail area, so that made things a little easier. Fewer power cords to worry about, fewer cables to connect things, and no need for a separate tent to protect a separate sound system.
But because the tent was a bit far from the house, Brendan’s parents opted to set up a portable generator, rather than stringing together lots of extension cords.

Checking out the key song choices? You’re right, it’s a bit shorter than most of my other weddings. Mia and Brendan opted to skip formal introductions, which made sense in this case, as they were present for enough of the cocktail hour that most guests had already seen them.
There also wasn’t an announced cake cutting, nor were there any tosses — so we were able to put all that time saved toward extending the dance floor time!
Reception
Before we get into the photos, here’s a neat little story: Mia and Brendan booked me because they were guests at another wedding I did exactly 364 days earlier — and Sarah and Tristan (who were guests at this wedding, it was great to see them again!) found me thanks to a recommendation from one of my 2024 couples… small world!!

One of the most unique moments was when I was asked to briefly pause the dinner music. I was told there’s a tradition at every family wedding to sing — and sure enough, a group of people gathered and sang the Dixie Cups classic, “Going to the Chapel of Love!” You’ll see that among the photos below.
