Ashley and Edward’s wedding day brought me and nearly 100 of their closest friends to the historic Lincklaen House in Cazenovia. So far, every wedding I’ve done at the Lincklaen House has included both the ceremony and the reception. Ashley and Edward’s did as well, but it was somewhat different from the others. Although my 2016 wedding season has ended, I continue to catch up with the memories here on my blog. We had a great time at Caitlin and Martin’s wedding ceremony and reception, split between two different locations in Cazenovia, a short drive southeast of Syracuse. Even after years in the DJ business, Laura and Daniel’s wedding day managed to present some exciting “firsts” for me. Although I’ve often DJ’ed a reception/ceremony combo, this was the first time I did them at two separate venues. No matter which way you get to Cazenovia, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride. If you’re coming from the west, your drive concludes with a glimpse of the serene lake which shares its name with the village. Nestled in along the lake shore is the Cazenovia Tennis Club, where Jacky and Stephen invited family and friends to celebrate their marriage. The food was great, the bar was hopping and a variety of tunes attracted guests of all ages to the dance floor throughout the night. (more…)
It’s always exciting to visit new venues, and this one was special because “Our Farm” between Manlius and Cazenovia is not only a popular place for hay rides and pumpkins in the fall — it’s owned and operated by the bride’s parents, who also live on the property. So whenever Natalie tells people she “came back home” from California for her wedding, she means it quite literally! (more…)
